Lubbock Ranks in the Top 20 Cities Where Millennials Are Moving

Millennials are growing up and moving south and west across the United States. Lubbock ranks as the number 17 spot where millennials are moving according to this year's research from Smart Asset.

A little more than 10,157 millennials moved to Lubbock in 2017, about 7,741 moved away, and our net migration was 2,416. For Texas, we're running close to Fort Worth with 2,417 and Abilene with 2,775 net moves. We're just ahead of Austin, which came in at no. 21. Meanwhile, Dallas took the top spot in the nation with more than 10,000 millennials moving there.

Overall, Texas did well. And it's great to see the growth for Lubbock. We're popular for millennials; we knew that. But it's official now.
