A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect until 1 p.m. Wednesday (October 30th) as light freezing rain and drizzle accumulate across the South Plains and Rolling Plains.

Drivers should plan on slippery road conditions as they could impact the morning commute. The Lubbock Police Department has already reported a four-vehicle accident on the overpass of South Loop 289 at Quaker Avenue.

Lubbock police have also placed road barricades at 16 different locations on Loop 289, and have not given a definitive timetable on when those barricades will be removed.

Lubbock ISD, Frenship ISD, and Lubbock-Cooper ISD have not announced any delays for Wednesday morning, but Bovina ISD, Farwell ISD, and Lazbuddie ISD have announced a two-hour delay, with classes to begin at 10 a.m.
