On Friday's edition of Lubbock's First News, Lubbock Mayor Tom Martin joined Chad and Rex at Reese Golf Center to talk about the recent city council meeting.

Mayor Martin said that, contrary to what other news outlets reported, tax rates were not actually voted on in this meeting. The council actually voted on the tax rate that would be advertised before the public hearings.

Mayor Martin also talked about the Lake Alan Henry project. He said that the projects would raise water rates, and that we should share our water with the surrounding communities.

Mayor Martin also briefly spoke about the health department, stating that he believed had enough votes to close the building down.
