A Lubbock man was found guilty this week on Wednesday of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon. David Minor, 42 years-old, now faces anywhere from 5 to 99 years in jail.

Minor Accused of "Horrific Abuse"

According to KAMC, Minor was indicted in 2021 when he was accused of repeatedly beating household members. According to court documents Minor was accused of throwing objects, hitting or punching children, and in September 2021 he was accused of putting a loaded gun into a child's mouth and threatened to shoot.

According to KAMC, prosecutor Abigail Brown said the abuse happened for years.

Minor waited for the perfect opportunity to abuse the child, Brown said. She described incidents of knives being thrown, and the child being beaten with sticks.

“This was horrific abuse over the course of years,” Brown said.
