Monday (April 2), Lubbock County Sheriff's Deputies made an arrest in a case involving the theft of animals.

Twenty-one-year-old James Laquel Martin (pictured above) was arrested by sheriff's deputies during a traffic stop on I-27. Martin was being pursued by authorities over the past week, since two warrants were issued for his arrest on March 27.

Martin has been charged with two counts of Theft of Livestock, Less than $150,000. Both charges are third degree felonies.

His bond was set late Monday afternoon at $50,000. He remains in custody at the Lubbock County Jail.
