The transfer window for Lubbock ISD campuses for the 2017-2018 school year ends on Friday. Parents requesting intradistrict or interdistrict transfers for their children will have to get applications and associated paperwork submitted by Friday, February 17, 2017.

According to Lubbock ISD all transfers will be considered on a “First Come, First Served” basis. Parents will be notified of magnet school transfer decisions by the end of March and parent will be notified of regular transfer decisions by the end of April.

Basic information provided by Lubbock ISD:

REGULAR TRANSFERS WITHIN LUBBOCK ISD (IN-DISTRICT)

  • All students in Lubbock ISD are assured admission to the schools in the attendance area in which they reside. Students may apply for a transfer from one school to another within the LISD district. This is referred to as an intradistrict transfer.

After reviewing enrollment projections and the capacity of our campuses (physical space and staffing), a list of schools open to this type transfer is established. Students may apply for an intradistict transfer to one of these open campuses during the transfer application window (January 4, 2017 – February 17, 2017).

REGULAR TRANSFERS FROM OUTSIDE LUBBOCK ISD (OUT-OF-DISTRICT)

  • A nonresident student living outside the Lubbock ISD boundaries that desires to attend school in the district can apply for a transfer to a school found on the “open to transfer” list during the transfer application window (January 4, 2017 – February 17, 2017). This type of transfer is referred to as an interdistrict transfer. The interdistrict transfer application form must be submitted to the desired “open to transfer” campus.
