Six campuses in the Lubbock Independent School District will be serving free meals for all children this summer starting on May 27. Nine other campuses will be known as "Grab and Go" sites during the summer.

LISD To Provide Free Summer Meals

Children in Lubbock under the age of 18 are eligible for the free meals, whether they attend a Lubbock ISD school or not. The meals will be served May 27 through July 31. No meals will be served from June 30 through July 3.

According to a press release, children do not have to attend an LISD school to participate in the meal program nor will there be any registration or ID required. The meals are being provided by the South Plains Food Bank and Lubbock National Bank.

Coronado, Estacado, Lubbock, and Monterey High Schools along with Bayless and McWhorter Elementary Schools will all provide free breakfast from 7:45 to 9:15 a.m. and lunch from 11:30 to 1:00 p.m. All meals must be eaten in the cafeteria.

Lubbock ISD Grab and Go Sites

According to the press release, Lubbock ISD will also have nine additional campuses that will be set up as "Grab and Go" sites. These sites will operate at various times.
