Lubbock Independent School District plans to announce their lone finalist for the position of superintendent.

The announcement is expected at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, June 1st in the City Bank room of the United Spirit Arena.

Lubbock ISD released the Board of Trustees’ intention to consider naming the lone finalist in an agenda for the special meeting released Wednesday afternoon.

Former Lubbock ISD Superintendent Karen Garza left the district after accepting the position of superintendent for the Fairfax County Public Schools in Virginia.

Dr. Berhl Robertson is currently serving as interim superintendent. Robertson has been with Lubbock ISD since 2009 as the chief administrative officer, and has previously held the position of superintendent for both Southland and Roosevelt ISDs.
