
Lubbock ISD Announces Second Election to be Held for District 1 Trustee Race
A Mandatory Second Election will be held in the tied Lubbock ISD District 1 Trustee race between Mario Ybarra and Lala Chavez. Ybarra and Chavez tied at 747 votes each in the May 7th election and a recount earlier this week reaffirmed the tie.
Election Day for the Second Election will be Tuesday, June 7 with Early Voting taking place from Thursday, May 26 through Friday, June 3.
The Lubbock ISD Board of Trustees will officially call for the Second Election during a Special Meeting on Friday, May 20 at 7:30am.
