Lubbock Doctor Arrested for Intoxicated Manslaughter
A Lubbock doctor has been arrested for the death of a teenager in a crash earlier this month.
Authorities say Dr. David Gonzalez-Gibler has been arrested for charges in the intoxicated manslaughter of 19 year old Samantha Martinez. Gonzalez-Gibler flipped his vehicle off a Lubbock overpass August 14th while driving drunk, killing Martinez and injuring another passenger.
The physician was arrested in his mother's house in Laredo around noon Tuesday. Lubbock police say Gonzalez-Gibler had twice the legal limit of alcohol in his system at the time of the crash. He was being held in the Webb County Detention Center under$80,000 bond.
