One man is dead following a shooting Friday morning at a Lubbock appliance store.

Robert Lee Daniel was reportedly shot at R&S Used Appliances around 10:30 a.m. Friday by Robert Pool, the owner of the store.

Pool is also the 49-year-old Daniel’s stepfather.

The Lubbock County Sheriff’s Office says that the shooting occurred following an altercation between the two. They say that it currently seems as though Daniel assaulted the 77-year-old Pool, which led Pool to shoot Daniel.

Daniel was taken to an area hospital, where he died after noon Friday.

No charges have been filed in the incident.

The shooting caused nearby Roy Roberts Elementary to go on lockdown, but it was lifted a short time later.
