Lubbock County is reminding residents that outdoor cooking is still allowed under the current burn ban.

Restrictions on cooking outdoors are in place, such as using a completely enclosed cooker.

No open flame cookers, open flame pits, or campfires are able to be used, and outdoor cooking is banned in all city parks.

There are no restrictions on the type of fuel that may be used, basic fire safety practices must be followed, and the fire must never be left unattended.

Lubbock County Emergency Management Coordinator Clinton Thetford discussed cooking outdoors safely Friday afternoon with KFYO's Cole Shooter.
