On Tuesday's edition of Lubbock's First News, Dorothy Kennedy form the Lubbock County elections office talked with Tom Collins and Laura Mac about today's state elections.

Today is Election Day across the state of Texas for 9 amendments to the Texas constitution, as well as the recall election of Councilman Victor Hernandez in District 1. Kennedy said that, unlike early voting, today's voting will not take place at any of the United Supermarkets, and the people must report to one of the 37 voting centers to cast their ballots.

Polls will be open from 7 AM to 7 PM today, and Kennedy added that as long as people are in line by 7 PM, they'll still be allowed to vote. Kennedy also reminded that people need to have a valid form of photo ID on them when they vote, as Voter ID is now the law in Texas.

Kennedy also discussed the turnout of last week's early voting. She said that approximately 9,000 people in Lubbock Country turned out to early vote, and over 1,000 people from District 1 voted early in the Victor Hernandez recall election.

KFYO's Rob Snyder, Robert Pratt and Ken Corbin will be hosting live coverage of the election results tonight starting at 7 PM on KFYO. A complete list of all voting locations in Lubbock County can be found here at KFYO.com as well.
