Lubbock County Commissioner’s Court Lets Burn Ban Expire
Friday morning, the Lubbock County Commissioner’s Court allowed the Burn Ban for the county to expire.
According to Lubbock County Emergency Management, the commissioners allowed the Burn Ban to expire for the following reasons: the county remain in a Stage 2 Drought, the county is no longer having critical threats for wildfires, and local firefighters are currently in a heightened alert status in case any wildfires do break out.
If drought conditions worsen later this year, the Commissioner’s Court could reverse their decision
