Lubbock Area School Delays and Closures for Wednesday, January 28

Road conditions are improving across the City of Lubbock after this past weekend's winter storm, but in smaller towns and in the more rural areas of Lubbock County and beyond, there are still snow packed streets and it's a little tougher to get around.

List of Lubbock Area Schools That Are Delayed For Wednesday

So that means, yes some area school are delayed for Wednesday, January 28. As we have written before, this list is not exhaustive and you should check with your child's school to make sure of their plans.

List of school delays as of right now:

• Lubbock ISD: 2 Hour Delay. Buses running 2 hour delayed start. Breakfast served before classes begin.
• • Elementary Schools– 9:45 a.m. Start Time
  • Middle Schools – 10:20 a.m. Start Time
  • High Schools– 10:15 a.m. Start Time
• Lubbock-Cooper ISD: 2 Hour Delay, Buses on pavement only
• Frenship ISD — Delay: campuses will start at the following times:
  
  • Elementary School – 9:45 a.m.
  • Middle School – 10:15 a.m.
  • High School – 11:00 a.m.
  • Reese Education Center – 10:10 a.m.
• Texas Tech University- Classes Begin at 10am.
• Shallowater ISD: CLOSED

• Cotton Center ISD — 2 Hour Delay, Buses on pavement only
  Denver City ISD — 10am Start, Buses on pavement only
• Hale Center ISD — 10am Start, buses on pavement only.
• Lamesa ISD — 10am Start, buses on pavement only.
• New Deal ISD — 10am Start, buses on pavement only.
• Plains ISD — 10am Start
• Slaton ISD — Delay: will start at 10 a.m., buses will run on pavement only.
• South Christian School — Delay: doors will open at 10 a.m., classes begin at 10:30 a.m.
• South Plains College — Delay: campus in Levelland will open at 11 a.m.
• Tahoka ISD — Delay: will start at 10 a.m., buses will run on pavement only.
