Update (August 12th, 2019) : Felony arrest warrants have been issued for both 33-year-old Brett Garza and 53-year-old David Wayne Hampton.

It's reported that both Garza and Hampton face charges of Debit/Credit Card Abuse of an Elderly Individual 65 years of age or older.

Seventy-nine-year-old Celestino Rodriguez was reported missing August 3rd, and his vehicle was found abandoned near Temple, Texas on August 5th. Investigators now say they have proof that Garza and Hampton used Celestino's credit card at multiple Lubbock bank locations the evening of his disappearance.

If captured, both men will be jailed on bonds of at least $75,000.

Anyone with information leading to the arrest of either Garza or Hampton may be eligible for a cash reward and is encouraged to contact Detective Gerber at 806-777-0396.


Original story (August 9th, 2019): Lubbock Police have named two men as persons of interest in the disappearance of 79-year-old Celestino Rodriguez of Slaton.

According to KAMC News, Rodriguez went missing on Saturday, August 3rd at around 10 a.m.

Rodriguez's car was found unoccupied Wednesday afternoon near Temple, and the Silver Alert that was issued for him was cancelled. However, Rodriguez remains missing.

Thirty-three-year-old Brett Garza and 53-year-old David Wayne Hampton were named as the persons of interest.

Garza is described as a white male standing at 6' and weighing around 205 pounds. Hampton is a white male standing at 5'5" and weighing roughly 140 pounds. Both men are known to live and work in the Lubbock area.
