Loop 461 in New Deal Remains Closed Until Wednesday

Loop 461 in New Deal remains closed to traffic through Tuesday night.

North Loop 461, which runs under the I-27 overpass in New Deal remained closed to traffic Tuesday, after a semi that was transporting batteries crashed onto the roadway.

The closure is to allow hazmat response teams to complete hazardous material cleanup on the roadway.

The eastbound lanes will reopen to traffic on Wednesday morning. Westbound Loop 461 is expected to remain closed for two to three more weeks until repairs can be made to the roadway, according to TxDOT.
