On the Tuesday edition of The Chad Hasty Show, Mike Laughlin for Llano Estacado Winery talked with Chad Hasty about their upcoming Grape Days celebration and the wine industry in Texas.

This weekend, Llano Estacado Winery will be hosting their 20th annual Grape Days festival, a celebration of the year's harvest. Laughlin said that there will be around 30 different kinds of Llano wines available for tasting, as well as lots of food and live music all day long. He added that there will also be a big-screen TV at the festival showing the Texas Tech vs. West Virginia game on Saturday, so the festival goers will not miss any of the game.

Laughlin also discussed the growing wine industry in West Texas. He explained that many wineries across the state are getting their grapes from the West Texas region, and that the arid soil and temperatures of this region are extremely favorable for growing high-quality grapes. Laughlin added that, while the wine industry in Texas is still quite young, white wine grapes in particular seem to grow especially well in this region.

Grape Days will take place Saturday, October 19th, from 10 AM to 5 PM out at Llano Estacado Winery. Admission is $5 per person, and includes a commemorative wine glass and a free glass of wine. For more information on Llano Estacado Winery, visit them online at llanowine.com.
