LISD cautioned students to be careful what they eat after several students took prescription drugs thinking the pills were candy.

The district sent letters home with students of Harwell Elementary school after a student passed out prescription pills to classmates Wednesday. LISD officials say the 1st grader brought a bottle of his mother’s antibiotics and passed out the pills to several classmates.

None of the children had negative reactions to the drugs, however at least one boy was taken to the hospital to be monitored. LISD reminded students that they should never eat anything a fellow classmate gives to them unless they know what it is.
