Lee Ann Dumbauld, former Lubbock City manager and candidate for Lubbock County Commissioner Precinct 1, has issued a statement in relation to the actions taken by Lubbock County Commissioners Jason Corley and Chad Seay.

On Monday, September 9th, Commissioners Corley and Seay skipped that day's meeting in an attempt to force the adoption of the effective tax rate rather than the higher proposed tax rate by the county. You can see a video featuring the two as they explain their positions in detail here.

Dumbauld made the following statement:

Commissioners Corley and Seay successfully defended the effective current rate by not attending the commissioners meeting this morning. But true to Lubbock County practice, the first reading of the budget was adopted with "amendments" that no Lubbock County taxpayer knows anything about. I support their actions and I join with all Lubbock taxpayers who are tired of being told one thing by their county officials while the truth is hidden.
