Lamesa to Host Annual Chicken Fried Steak Festival and Balloon Rally [Audio]
Thursday on Lubbock's First News, Teri Stahl, Event Coordinator, gave details on Lamesa's upcoming 2014 Chicken Fried Steak Festival and Balloon Rally.
The free event will be held April 25-27 in Forrest Park, 814 S. Houston Ave., Lamesa. It will feature a chicken fried steak dinner and cook off and a variety of over 100 vendors. There will also be 26 hot air balloons on Saturday and Sunday mornings, a rodeo on Friday and Saturday nights, a classic car show, live music and wine tasting. A fire fest, balloon glow will take place Saturday night. Stahl noted, "Back in 2011, Governor Perry did a proclamation deeming Lamesa the legendary home of chicken fried steak."
