Lamesa Baby Has Meth in Her System, Police Arrest Parents & Grandfather
A 9-month-old girl had a "heavy amount" of methamphetamine in her system, leading Lamesa police to arrest the baby's mom, dad and grandfather.
According to Dallas News, staff at a Lamesa hospital determined the baby had meth in her system and contacted Lamesa police. The baby was then transferred to a Lubbock hospital's ICU, said Lamesa Police Chief Dale E. Alwan Sr.
Lubbock and Lamesa police arrested three people in connection with the baby's condition, including the 19-year-old mother Destiny Lozano, who is being held at the Lubbock County Jail. The father, Ricky Ricardo Hernandez, and grandfather Recardo Hernandez, were also arrested and booked into the Dawson County Jail. Bond for each has been set at $150,000.
