The City of Lubbock has released their hunting schedule for the Wildlife Mitigation Area at Lake Alan Henry for the 2013-14 season.

Dove and hog permits are available on a first-come, first-served basis per day, and deer and turkey permits are available by a random drawing of names submitted for each hunt.

No quail hunting will be allowed this year due to low populations in the area.

Hunting is only allowed in the Wildlife Mitigation Area under certain restrictions.

Hunting access is only allowed on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays during the hunting season, and game permits must be purchased in advance with deadlines that vary by game.

Those that plan to hunt in the area must have a City-issued permit and a State-issued hunting license with appropriate stamps from the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department for 2013-14.

The City-issued permits can be purchased at the City’s Parks and Recreation Office at 1611 10th Street, which is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m.

More information, including hunter forms, drawing dates, and permit deadlines is available at www.lakealanhenry.org.
