The Regera is a gasoline-electric hybrid that has a twin-turbo 5.0 liter V8 that produces 1,100 wheel horsepower, teamed up with 3 electric motors that produce 700 wheel horsepower.

That’s 1,800 horsepower and an estimated 1,500 ft-pounds of torque. Autoblog.com reports that even though the Regera has 1,800 whp, only 1,500 of it is available with all 4 motors working together. Koenigsegg founder Christian von Koenigsegg told British Top Gear that instead of having a traditional transmission, the Regera has a crank-mounted electric motor that fills the torque gap together with a hydraulic coupling when the electric motors shift the power to the gasoline motor. The Regera will go from a dead stop to 62 mph in 2.7 seconds, and from a dead stop to 250 mph in less than 20 seconds. If you’ve got the spare change, the Regera will set you back a paltry $1.89 million dollars. The picture in this post is not the Regera, but the Agera, with which the Regera shares a chassis.
