KFYO to Air State of the Union Address
News/Talk 790, KFYO will air live coverage of the 2014 State of the Union Address on Tuesday. Coverage from ABC News will begin at 8p.
President Barack Obama is expected to speak for an hour to an hour-and-a-half. After President Obama finishes, KFYO will also air the Republican Response.
The 2014 State of the Address will be the sixth State of the Union delivered by President Obama.
As the Associated Press reported last week, many in Washington expect the State of the Union to set the tone for the 2014 midterm elections.
But the president can set the tone — and in his State of the Union address on Tuesday, Obama will deliver the opening salvo in a yearlong fight for control of Congress. Although not explicitly political, the speech before millions will frame an economic argument that Democrats hope will resonate with voters in races across the country.
"It will be interpreted as the Democratic agenda," said Celinda Lake, a Democratic pollster. "He can frame up the 2014 choice."
