Last Friday, Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg passed away leaving an open seat on the court. President Trump has pledged to nominate someone this Saturday to fill the vacancy. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnel has said he would push for a vote this year.

On Wednesday, Jenna Ellis, Senior Legal Advisor for the Trump 2020 campaign joined The Chad Hasty Show to discuss the nomination and confirmation hearing process.

Ellis pointed to what the Constitution says versus the narrative being pushed by the Democrats. Ellis explained to KFYO that in 2016, Senator McConnell did follow precedent but more importantly they followed the Constitution when the Senate did not vote on a Supreme Court nominee in 2016.

Ellis also discussed how an originalist court would impact the United States for years to come.
