Thursday on The Chad Hasty Show, James Arnold, President of Lubbock's American Bank of Commerce joined the broadcast from the KFYO studio to talk about the South Plains economy, and what is in store for the near future.

Arnold and Hasty discussed several topics, including employment rates, home construction permits, the larger than anticipated cotton crop, and interest rate increases.

Borrowers would really like to see rates stay low obviously, so there's always going to be that push-pull, that little tension between people that borrow money and people that deposit money. But I think it bodes well for our economy to see growth and expansion and just a little bit of inflation, is really kind of some good tenets of a solid, sound economy.
