What Ridiculously-Named Bowl Game Could Texas Tech Play In This Year?
Let's not kid ourselves, this whole story was just another excuse for an incredibly stupid photoshop.
Cool picture, though...and guacamole is pretty awesome.
On the heels of Texas Tech's goalpost-dropping, field-rushing, 51-48 win over Oklahoma, the speculation now turns to what tropical locale our beloved Red Raiders might head to for their bowl appearance. To quote Henry Hill in Goodfellas:
"I don't wanna go anywhere that's cold."
Nope. No bowl games in North Dakota or Wisconsin, so we'll have to take a pass on the "Peak Anti-Freeze Bowl", or the "Old Milwaukee Bowl" (although...I may be tempted to go to that last one).
Since there are no less than 734 bowl games each year, it's not like they can all have cool names, right? I mean some of them are just downright weak, mostly because of some silly corporate sponsor deal.
These are ACTUAL Bowl Games, so don't accuse us of making anything up....yet.
Taxslayer.com Gator Bowl
Cheribundi Tart Cherry Boca Raton Bowl
Crucial.com Humanitarian Bowl
Servpro First Responder Bowl
Lockheed Martin Armed Forces Bowl
Tony the Tiger Sun Bowl
Zaxby's Heart of Dallas Bowl
Makers Wanted Bahamas Bowl
Boise Bridgepoint Education Holiday Bowl
Battlefrog Fiesta Bowl
SEE WHAT WE MEAN??? Although that Battlefrog Fiesta Bowl sounds like fun. And that Makers Wanted Bahamas Bowl. If that doesn't involve drinking Maker's Mark in the Bahamas, though...that's false advertising.
Speculation is that Texas Tech might be headed to Orlando for the (no, we're not making this up) CHEEZ-IT'S BOWL. Yep...the CHEEZ-IT'S Bowl. IN ORLANDO? Sigh. Which got us thinking about other completely silly bowl game names. We tried to make these up, but if it's an actual bowl game, it only proves our point.
THE AVOCADOS FROM MEXICO GUACAMOLE BOWL
THE OLIVE GARDEN ENDLESS SALAD BOWL
THE TY-D BOWL
THE REAGOR-DYKES MONEY LAUNDERING BOWL
THE TOUCAN SAM FROOT LOOPS BOWL
THE LEGALIZE IT SMOKE-A-BOWL
THE OZEMPIC CANDY BOWL
Okay, that last one might be a stretch, but nothing would shock me anymore. Let's just hope that no matter what bowl game the Red Raiders play in, or who they play against, that the game isn't on some far-flung network like QVC or Al Jazeera.
