Driver of 18-Wheeler Tragically Killed After Falling Off Overpass
In the quiet hours of early morning in Raymondville, an isolated tragedy unfolded on FM 77. At about 5:20 a.m., a SAIA Motor Freight Line tractor-trailer was navigating southbound. But then, something went awry.
Alejandro Delbosque Jr., a 61-year-old from Mission, experienced a moment that turned fatal. For reasons still shrouded in mystery, he lost control of the massive vehicle, leading to a heart-stopping plunge off the overpass.
Sgt. Maria Hernandez of the Texas Department of Public Safety relayed the somber details. Delbosque's journey ended right there on the cold concrete, his life tragically cut short.
Hernandez said Delbosque died at the scene from his injuries; there were no other passengers.
The crash remains under investigation.
