Back in August 2019, Lubbockites mourned the loss of Johnny Carino's Restaurant and its Italian nachos and the infamous Skilletini. Since that fateful day, Lubbock citizens have had to make the trek all the way to Midland to enjoy the five meat Tuscan pasta with those beautiful bowtie pasta shapes that comfort your soul.

Could it be that the Country Italian Eatery could be making a comeback to Lubbock?

Probably not, but at the very least something new could be coming to the old location that once held the Carino's name.

The Carino's building is going to finally be back in action after being practically abandoned since August 2019. Coldwell Banker Commercial Capital Advisors recently announced the sale of the building on their Facebook page.

I say the building could be in action, it might be that the Carino's building is being torn down to make room for something brand new to come to the Hub City. There have been rumors for decades that Papadeaux's might be in store for Lubbock. Those will stay as rumors.

Taking a look at the Lubbock in the Loop rumor mill, there's speculation that Bush's Chicken has plans to move to Lubbock with a location on Slide Road. That would be doomed, seeing as how The Lord's Chicken is set up right across the street.

There's another rumor on the site that says Total Wine and More was attached to some land at Slide and Loop 289 back in 2018. I'm going to say that Carino's won't be Total Wine and More.

Here's the dream: could it be that a restaurant chain that was gauging interest in a Lubbock location mere weeks ago could have actually already been in the market for a space and was just drumming up some free publicity and excitement?

IS IT ACTUALLY HAPPENING?? IS CARINO'S GOING TO BE A PLUCKERS?

Alright, I won't get my hopes up, if you don't.
