As the South Plains and Texas Panhandle digs out of yesterday's blizzard a major roadway has been reopened.  TxDOT, just after 8:30a, announced that Interstate 27 has been reopened to traffic between Lubbock to Amarillo.  TxDOT is urging drivers to use caution while driving on I-27. That's because snow and ice are present along I-27.

Other major traffic arteries reopened in the Panhandle include: US 287, US 385, US 60, US 54. Interstate 40 remains closed across the whole Panhandle due to ice and snow.

Ice is present along side streets and some Farm-to-Market roads across the KFYO listening area. Afternoon temperatures above the freezing mark today will improve road conditions across the South Plains.
