Texas Tech will be celebrating homecoming soon with their annual bonfire on October 21st at 8 p.m. at Urbanovsky Park. Here's to hoping that everything goes smoothly and they don't end up in a situation like what took place recently at a high school homecoming bonfire in Florida.

According to the Panama City News Herald, the bonfire was set up just the same as it is every single year, and they aren't exactly sure what went wrong. Things clearly did not go as planned. I've probably watched this video about a dozen times because I just can't get over how insane it is.

It looks like someone threw a little extra gasoline on it, or...dynamite? Who knows? It's intense. Check out the video below:

Luckily, local firefighters were already on the scene as a precautionary measure and there were no reported injuries. All of the students remained far away and behind a fence when the fire was lit. I imagine the guy who lit the fire is probably missing a couple hairs today.

Have you ever seen something that insane at a bonfire? The closest I can get to it was a time when my buddy had one too many drinks and played with some fireworks a little too close to a field of dead grass. But that was nothing compared to this. Gee-whiz!

I hope y'all have a fantastic time at the Texas Tech homecoming bonfire. I'd stand back a bit if I was you. You never know what could happen.
