It looks like Hewlett Packard just can't make up its' mind. Are they going to keep producing these tablets or not?

After announcing that it would no longer be manufacturing tablets,  HP turned right back around and said they would be producing one last batch of its TouchPad tablets. When the company said they would be moving away from consumer electronics, HP slashed the price of its tablets from $399 and $499 to just $99. That caused an absolute frenzy for the TouchPads and they sold out in record time. HP was "pleasantly surprised" by how fast the TouchPads sold out, and decided to make another batch to meet "unfulfilled demand."

Here's the thing; the TouchPad is no match for the iPad. That's why no one was buying it. The only reason it sold as fast as it did was because of the huge price drop. If you produce more of these tablets, even at the same reduced price, it doesn't change the fact that the TouchPad just isn't as good as an iPad. In fact, I predict HP might lose money because of this move, just because the cost to make these tablets is probably much higher than what HP is selling them for.
