The U.S. news media is struggling to gain the confidence of the American people. According to a Gallup survey, only 27% of Americans have a "great deal" or "quite a lot" of confidence in newspapers. The number is actually lower when it comes to television news where only 24% of Americans have a lot of confidence towards the media. When it comes to news found only, only 16% of people have confidence in what they read online.
