I can only describe this story in one word: ironic.

In Australia, a woman who had been lobbying for more support for home births died after giving birth to her daughter at home. According to paramedics, the woman was "critically ill" when she was rushed to the hospital after giving birth. Officials have said that, despite the tragedy, there will likely not be a ban on home births. (As opposed to here in America where it seems something is banned after it goes wrong once.)

I don't get what the big push is for having babies at home, anyway. Especially when you consider that we have all these fancy hospitals that help mothers safely birth their children. Why would you take that kind of risk when both you and your child's life could be on the line?
