Hobbs Man in Critical Condition at Lubbock Hospital
A Hobbs man is in critical condition at a Lubbock hospital after a shooting occurred at a Halloween party in Hobbs.
On Sunday (Oct. 28), Hobbs Police responded to the 400 block of North Cochran for reports of gunshots. A victim, 39 year-old German Portillo, was suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest and was taken to Lea Regional Medical Center, then later transported to Lubbock. He is still listed in hospital records in critical condition.
Another victim, 22 year-old Shanna Frischknecht suffered a gunshot wound to the hip and was also taken to Lea Regional Medical Center.
KAMC News reports an argument between Portillo and 18 year-old Ruben Flores happened as they were leaving the party. The argument became physical and multiple shots were fired.
Police arrested Flores and charged him with Aggravated Battery and Aggravated Assault.
