
Historic Heat Wave Will Send Temperatures Soaring Across Texas This Week
Temperatures really haven't been that bad in Texas since the arrival of spring, but this week, Texans will get a taste of summer and some places will see record high temperatures, well above 100 degrees.
We will warm quickly on Monday, but the summer-like temperatures are really expected to soar from Tuesday to Thursday for many parts of Texas.
Record High Temperatures in Texas This Week
According to FOX Weather, just about everyone in Texas will see temperatures rise this week. Even in places like Lubbock where it's not supposed to be insanely hot, will still be hot with high temperatures in the mid-90's on both Tuesday and Wednesday.
For cities west of I-35 and south on I-20, the real heat will be concentrated there. Even Dallas is supposed to top out above 100 on Wednesday. San Angelo will see temperatures of around 106 and 107 on Tuesday and Wednesday. Waco is expected to see temperatures around 103 on Wednesday. San Antonio will be sizzling this week with high temperatures on Tuesday and Wednesday at or above 107 degrees before "cooling off" to around 101 on Thursday.

In Austin, it won't just be the politics causing the heat. Temperatures will rise to 102 on Tuesday and 106 on Wednesday.
Is May Early For This Type of Heat in Texas?
It's not unheard of for May temperatures to get warm, but these are temperatures we normally see in July and August, not middle of May. According to FOX Weather, Austin's average first 100-degree day is normally around July 11. They could see 100 degree's on Tuesday.
