Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar joined The Chad Hasty Show on Wednesday to discuss oil prices, COVID-19, and the impact those two are having on the Texas economy.

Hegar told KFYO that Texas economy is still strong but that growth rate will "probably be downward adjusted" later this Summer when the Comptroller's office does the cash flow analysis of what the state's need will be in the next fiscal year.

Hegar said that regionally and in the oil industry, there should be more concern but not panic. Hegar also said that they expect Texas to outperform the national economy. Hegar pointed to past oil prices where the price of oil was around $30 per barrel but Texas continued to grow.
