The oppressive heat will continue for the next few days throughout the region.  A Heat Advisory has been issued through Monday 7am, for eastern counties of the South Plains and most of Texoma.

Lubbock's high temperature for Sunday is forecast at 111 and 108 for Monday.   Amarillo will be slightly cooler at 106 on Sunday and 98 for Monday.  Other highs across the region for Sunday include 110 in Plainview, 108 in Crosbyton, 110 in Matador, 113 in Childress and 106 in Wichita Falls.

During a Heat Advisory, extra care should be taken to avoid dehydration and prolonged exposure to the heat.  Also, those working or exercising outside will be at a higher risk of suffering heat stroke.
