One of Lubbock's newest breweries will host the earliest Oktoberfest in Lubbock this year.

As a pro-early all things Autumn person, they have my support. Why not celebrate the best month of the year, a month early? To be fair, THE Oktoberfest in Munich, Germany always starts in September, too. And they've been doing it since the 18th century.

Goodline Brewery (2611 Boston Ave. in Tech Terrace) is hosting their very first Oktoberfest this weekend, Friday September 9th and Saturday, September 10th. During the event, participants will be able to try Goodline's new German style Festbier, THESE PRETZELS. I totally caught and totally appreciate the Seinfeld joke there. In case you don't know what a Festbier is, it's a “Pale Malty European Lager.” Neat!

Also available at the fest are collectable one-liter steins for $30, which include one free pour. The steins themselves are beauties (see above). A liter is relatively huge (nearly 34 ounces), so it's nearly the size equivalent of three canned beers.

There's other cool stuff happening, too. From Goodline's Instagram page:

• Fresh Pretzels!
• Fresh Polka!
• Fresh Pretzel Necklaces!
• Fresh Root Beer Mini Steins for kids!
• Fresh Stein Hoisting!

Our buds @tastebuds will be onsite both days with a special Oktoberfest inspired menu!

We'll also have the TTU game on the projector Saturday afternoon!

We can't wait to FEST with y'all this weekend! PROST!

Goodline Brewery opened in June of this year. They're open Wednesdays through Sundays in Lubbock's beautiful Tech Terrace.
