Do you have kids that are in need of of food for the weekend? If so, Frenship ISD is coming to the rescue. School children in and around Lubbock have been missing classes lately, not because of the pandemic, but because of the winter storm and the strain on the on the power grid. Frenship ISD also knows that this means that many school children are going hungry throughout Lubbock.

That's why they will be hosting a free Curbside meal event for any child under the age of 18 this weekend according to press release from Frienship ISD. Each child who attends the Curbside Meal will get a food pack with enough breakfast and lunch items to last them three days. They event on Friday is open to all kids below the age of 18.

In an effort to help our community during this historic winter storm, Frenship ISD will offer free curbside meals to any child age 18 or younger on Friday, February 19.  All children are welcome regardless of what school district they attend.

Each child will receive breakfast and lunch for three days to help with food over the weekend.

DATE: Friday, February 19

TIME: 12 p.m. – 1 p.m.

LOCATIONS: Westwind Elementary (6401 43rd Street, Lubbock, TX) and FHS Ninth Grade Center (407 N. Dowden, Wolfforth, TX)

This is a great idea from Frenship ISD and one that I'm sure will be well attended. In the past, Frenship ISD has worked with others including the Boys and Girls Club to hand out food to families in need.
