On Tuesday's edition of Lubbock's First News, Beth Oglesby talked with Tom Collins and Laura Mac about an upcoming benefit concert and fundraiser for Lupus.

Lupus is a chronic autoimmune disease in which the immune system starts attacking normal, healthy tissue inside the body. Oglesby, who suffers from the disease, said that symptoms of the disease can vary from patient to patient, but some common symptoms include persistent pain in joints, migraines, and anemia. Currently, there is no known cure for the disease.

Oglesby, along with the Lupus Foundation of America, will be hosting the first ever "Rock The Cure" fundraiser and concert this Saturday, May 18th, and Tornado Gallery in the Depot District. A number of local musicians will be performing at the concert, including Brandon Adams, Tim Wheeler, and Cary Swinney. Doors open at 5 PM and the concert starts at 6 PM. Admission is a $20 donation, and all proceeds will go to the Lupus Foundation of America.
