Federal Grand Jury Indicts Ex-Slaton Police Officer on Charges of Child Pornography

A federal grand jury in Lubbock has indicted a former Slaton police officer on six child pornography charges.  A preliminary hearing for Richard Lewis was supposed to have been held yesterday but was postponed as the indictments were being announced. Federal agents found massive amounts of pornographic material at Lewis’s home on May 11^th, seizing three computers, 80 CDs and 10 VHS tapes. Lewis resigned from his position May 23rd after the Department of Homeland Security began investigating his activities.
