Texas Tech is hosting a series of Halloween events aimed to be fun for all ages.

Multiple organizations are hosting events during the week leading up to Halloween, appropriate for all families. These events are open for all area children.

Don your creepy or corny costumes, and head up to the University for family entertainment. Plenty of trick-or-treating events, live music, art, and carnival-style games can be found at these different happenings.

  • Texas Tech Volleyball vs. Baylor: A Halloween costume contest will be held at the game, which begins at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at the United Spirit Arena. A post-game trick-or-treat with student organizations will also be held, and all kids who wear a costume will be admitted to the game for free. Tickets for adults are $5. A trick-or-treat bag should be brought from home.
  • Greek Treat: The 15th Annual Greek Treat will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday at Greek Circle, located on Quaker Avenue between 8th and 15th Streets. Activities such as bobbing for apples, face painting, and a bean bag toss will be held as well, in addition to the usual trick-or-treating. Greek Circle will be blocked off to traffic that afternoon for the event.
  • The National Ranching Heritage Center’s Old Fashioned Harvest Festival: The fifth annual Heritage Halloween event will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at the Center, located at 3121 4th Street. The event allows kids to experience trick-or-treating from yesteryear, with period-correct treats at the Center. $1 hayrides will also be available, in addition to a cakewalk at the McLaughlin Arbor, and stick horse rodeos with the Texas Tech Rodeo team.
  • Annual Dia de los Muertos Procession: The event will run from 5:30 until 9:30 p.m. Friday, and will begin at the International Cultural Center, located at 601 Indiana Avenue. Traditional snacks will be available at each site of the procession.
