The Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey Circus is in Lubbock this weekend. There are performances scheduled Saturday at 3:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., and Sunday at 1:30 p.m.  Tickets are available through Select-A-Seat at 770-2000.

The Silent Wings Museum will be commemorating the sixty-seventh anniversary of D-Day this weekend. The free event will be today and tomorrow, and will feature children’s activities, the unveiling of a new exhibit, and demonstrations by the World War II Airborne Demonstration Team. The team will be selling rides in their C-47 for $125. The event will last from 10a to 5p Friday and Saturday.

The 3rd annual Peace, Love and Mud Volleyball tournament began today at 9p. Games are currently being played at the courts at 109th and Upland. The games are held to support Communites in Schools, an organization geared towards preventing drop outs and helping school children succeed in education and in life. 80 teams will compete on 16 mud courts. Final rounds are at 4p today.

The Slaton Municipal Airport is holding their South Plains Air show today until 4:00. Demonstrations will include a jet powered glider and aerial acrobatics. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children. Kids under 5 are free. All proceeds will go to the Caprock chapter of the Texas Air Museum.
