Tuesday on KFYO Mornings with Dave King and Matt Martin the President of the Lubbock Chamber of Commerce Eddie McBride joined Dave and Matt to talk about upcoming Chamber events such as the BBQ Cook Off, the 2018 Harvest Luncheon, and more.
The Hub City Barbecue Cook Off has been taking place since 2001 and is a great opportunity to have some delicious barbecue made by a variety cooking teams.
"It's our ability to put on an event that celebrates three of the things that I like most, and that's a little bit of libation, very good BBQ, and music."
McBride explained that the event is a great way to meet and talk to other people and for business owners to network. The event will take place from 5-8 p.m. on October 11th at the South Plains Fairgrounds and will feature over 200 cooking teams. You can get tickets at www.HubCityBBQ.com or at the door the day of the event.
The Chamber also has the 2018 Harvest Luncheon coming up on October 4th, which has been described as the "Crowned Jewel Event" of the Agricultural Committee. Eddie described the event as an, "opportunity for us to celebrate the commodities in our community that drive such a huge part of our economic freedom." On top of this the chamber has the upcoming Young Entrepreneurs Academy, and much more.
