There is a new trend going around in Texas and throughout the United States. Or at least it's new to me. Homeowners and even mail carriers are starting to put dryer sheets in mailboxes.

And the reason is pretty smart. In fact, you may decide that you want to put a dryer sheet in your mailbox if you haven't already.

According to a news report from texomashomepage.com, this is the time of year that we start seeing a lot of wasps showing up. And sometimes wasps like to build nests near mailboxes, particularly, large cluster mailbox units that you see in some neighborhoods.

Well, according to mail carriers, the scent of dryer sheets actually keeps wasps away. So mail carriers have begun putting dryer sheets into mail boxes. The trend has become so popular, that some homeowners are doing it themselves so they won't get stung.

Scented Dryer Sheets Work... Not Just For Wasps!

According to the report from texomahomepage.com, scented dryer sheets are the ones that work best.

And according to this story from thisoldhouse.com, scented dryer sheets that contain "linalool", like Bounce also keep other bugs away including spiders, hornets, bees, and more. They do suggest changing out the dryer sheet every 10-14 days in order to make sure the scent is string enough.

While the is no guarantee that this will keep spiders or bugs away, many people say it has worked for them. So, why not try it?
