It's been an on-going topic of discussion among the arts community for a while now, a new performing arts theater. According to a report from the local newspaper, the Lubbock Chamber of Commerce has hired a developer to explore options in regard to a new theater. Chamber President Eddie McBride, said that it's only in an exploratory phase and nothing is or will be set in stone. The developer will interview people in Lubbock to get their opinion on a new theater. McBride said that he is hoping that it would be larger than the Civic Center that has 1,400 seats. The ideal location for many would be downtown.

So what do you think? Does Lubbock need a new performing arts theater?
