Wednesday on The Chad Hasty Show, Lieutenant Steven Rogers, veteran of both police and U.S. Navy Reserve service, joined the program to talk about current events, specifically the unrest in cities across the country.

Rogers and Hasty discussed the massive protests and violence taking place, with a movement taking hold in many cities to defund police departments.

Rogers spoke at length about the unintended consequences of that mindset, and what it would mean to cities were police removed, or not be allowed to do their jobs.

Stevens said,

The blood of crime victims is going to flow in our streets like at no other time in the history of this country. The people of this country who are going to be affected by this are, ironically, the majority of them will be minorities in areas such as Chicago, where every single weekend people being gunned down, killed, robbed, mugged, beaten and raped...It's just going to be a terrible, terrible, horrendous situation, not only for people in Chicago, but also people around the country. Like I said, it's ironic because, the minority areas in these cities are crying for help. They want more cops not less, and the only one who has responded to them is the President of the United States. He has offered more help, whether it be police or military, but the Democrats...are refusing to bring the help these people need.
