Crosswalks Removed Near Frienship High School for Safety Reasons

TxDOT has made some changes to pedestrian traffic by Frenship High School in the name of safety.  Starting tomorrow, there will only be one active crosswalk on FM 179 in Wolfforth in between Frenship High School and Peoples Bank Stadium.  Two of the three crosswalks were removed for several reasons, including their proximity to busy intersections. A release from the school says increased traffic, both vehicular and pedestrian, to have made the intersections more dangerous.

Crosswalks at both the north intersection at Highway 179 and Donald Preston Drive and the south intersection at Highway 179 and Bobby Davis Drive have been removed. The remaining crosswalk goes to the main entrance at Frenship High School.
